They were born at the beginning of the 19th century in Alessandria area. The legend tells the name “Baci di Dama” originated from a love story. A chef from Savoy royal family created them in 1852 upon king Vittorio Emanuele II ‘s request. The king asked for a new sweet to offer as a gift to a wonderful woman. From this the chef’s inspiration: the two parts of this speciality resemble two lips in the moment of kissing. You can choose between the classic type or the baci di dama with cacao.
